Senior Vice President of Supply Chain paying up to $250K for a growing corporation in the Statesville area. The SVP of Supply Chain is a pivotal role, strategically and tactically guiding both sourcing and Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) functions. This executive will be tasked with significantly reducing the cost of goods sold by continually refining sourcing strategies and enhancing negotiation processes.
The Senior Vice President of Supply Chain will lead a dynamic team of Planners and Buyers and will collaborate closely with commercial and product teams to drive revenue growth and foster innovation in new product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing:
• Lead a team of Buyers in building and managing a world-class portfolio of apparel and fabric suppliers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality goods at competitive prices
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Proactively communicate potential issues impacting finished goods inventory to key stakeholders within Company’s Brands' Executive, Sales, and Customer Service teams
• Collaborate with Buyers to devise recovery strategies for delivery disruptions, ensuring continuity in inventory availability
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures and manage cost reduction initiatives across sourcing operations
• Work in close partnership with Product Development to identify and onboard alternative suppliers, enhancing supply chain resilience
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Purchasing department on a weekly basis
• Drive continuous improvement in the sourcing function through the adoption of innovative tools and processes
• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with the evolving business needs
Demand and Supply Planning:
• Collaborate with the Demand Planning team to establish a statistically based forecast utilizing advanced analytical tools
• Conduct Demand Review meetings to refine forecasts based on the latest market insights and customer feedback gathered by the Sales team
• Support Sales in engaging with major customers to align forecasts and expectations
• Analyze forecast accuracy trends and implements Forecast Value-Added analysis to minimize forecast errors and biases
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development to develop accurate demand forecasts for new product launches, ensuring optimal timing and ramp-up strategies
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to manage product transitions effectively as styles are phased out
• Manage and optimize safety stock levels to meet Company’s Brands’ targets for product availability across all categories
• Coordinate with Sales & Marketing to adjust demand in response to supply challenges, ensuring strategic alignment
Supply Chain:
• Serve as a key organizational leader, coaching and mentoring team members while influencing cross-departmental collaboration to enhance overall supply chain efficiency
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing root cause analysis, process automation, and management by exception within Company’s Brands
• Spearhead initiatives to cultivate an analytics and data-driven culture across the organization
• Ensure professional growth and development of the supply chain team through clear objectives, development plans, performance reviews, and succession planning
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years purchasing and/or supply chain experience in a mixed manufactured/sourced supply chain
• 10+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain execution in the areas of demand and supply planning
• Experience with principles and practices of purchasing including ethics, standards, bid preparation, negotiation, and evaluation
• Prior experience in sourcing new suppliers with proven ability to maintain positive and effective relationships
• Ability to work independently, lead a team, or be a team player
• Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Systems enhancement experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using MRP software in support of supply chain execution (e.g. purchasing, MRP, safety stock management, etc.).
• Experience using advanced forecasting techniques (e.g. AR/MA, causal regression, neural nets, machine learning)
• Advanced data analysis and Excel skills (e.g. Power Query, Power Pivot, Power Bl)
